Customer-Chosen Featured Flavors to Celebrate Pritchard’s 75th Anniversary
Local ice cream shop celebrates 75th anniversary with Featured Flavors survey
MINNEAPOLIS – June 30, 2017: Pritchard’s Ice Cream celebrates its 75th anniversary this August with the Featured Flavors survey. Both the St. Paul and Minneapolis stores will hold a vote from July 1-20 during regular hours.
One lucky voter will win a pass for 48 free cones, so the winner and a friend can have all of the 24 limited edition celebration flavors.
For $5, customers can choose 10 mini scoops to try and vote on the flavors. While two customer-chosen flavors will be featured in the Minneapolis and St. Paul-based stores every month, the Top 24 results will be sold altogether across the country for a limited time.
With the development of 40 new flavors for the vote, Pritchard’s will partner with more local Minnesota farms and international fair trade for the freshest, organic ingredients possible.
“Using local and fair trade ingredients whenever possible has been a staple of Pritchard’s since the beginning,” said Francine Pritchard-Wallace, daughter of Douglas Smith.
“Some flavors have been sold in the store before; some were just for our family,” said Sam Pritchard, CEO of Pritchard’s Ice Cream and son of founder Douglas Smith.
Christina Pritchard began a recipe box in 1920 which now holds four generations of over 100 flavors. Some of Grandma Pritchard’s customer favorites include mint julep, butter crunch pecan, sweet tea, lemon berry crisp, and chocolate strawberry swirl.
“We’re opening the recipe box to celebrate 75 years of fun, flavorful ice cream that’s always been at the heart of our family business,” said Sam Pritchard.
